Imagine this scenario:
You're a guest at someone's house. That person has told you beforehand that she has a dog and that dog runs around the house freely because she doesn't cage it up. You still appear at her place, yet you tell her you're not okay with dogs and expect her to keep it away from you.
Do you think that's okay?
