I've met a handful of people in KL who have lived in Malaysia THEIR WHOLE FUCKING LIFE but have this really weird accent when they speak English, it's like a mix of Australian - American pronunciation, which also happens to change when they speak to other people who happen to come from western countries.

Hmmm.

Remember when we first got the internet? For me it was 1996, which marked my days as an internet addict until about what, 2000? Remember mIRC? ICQ? The countless email addresses we had? Like the ones you can sign up for a witty domain name like @bradpittlovesme.com or something. I think I had about 5 or 6 of those. I was also an IRC geek. I got to know a few people there whom I'm still friends with til now. And damn those IRC fights! Damn syiok man.

Now the internet is so normal. We can't seem to live without it (no facebook?? no twitter?? omfgwtfbbq!! die!!) but really, 13 years ago, we did. Funny.
